Hydrogen Boost Hall of Fame Customers
Diesel Results Below
Larry Trowbridge
achieves 81.22 mpg with Saturn SL1
Larry
Trowbridge has been a Hydrogen Boost customer for over two years. At first he installed on a Dodge
Durango and later I convinced him to get a Saturn. This past week Larry
got serious about mileage and used Hydrogen Boost driving tips and
equipment to achieve 81.22 mpg.
He traveled 102.5 miles with 1.262 gallons of fuel. I verified with Larry
that he did indeed go to the
exact same station and fill his tank to overflowing and waited to
insure the fuel did not settle into the tank. Here are pictures of his rebate
offer form and gas receipts: The
receipt on the right is the one from his fill-up at the beginning of
the test run.
Jeff McCabe Achieves 81% Improvement with Dodge Durango
Jeff McCabe of
San Jose, California has implemented portions of the Hydrogen Boost
System even before he became a paying customer, simply by reading the
newsletters and applying what he learned. In doing so Jeff has increased the
fuel mileage of his 2002 Dodge Dakota by as much as 81%. Jeff has now purchased the plans and
operator’s manual and is looking to build one of the choices of
electronic control circuits explained in the manual. Jeff has already achieved 34.4
mpg with
his truck. EPA mileage figures
for the 2002 Dodge Dakota V-6 automatic transmission are 18 mpg city
and 19 mpg highway.
Rishi Giovanni Gatti achieves 95.2
mpg with two cylinder Citroen
The following is from an
email from Rishi Giovanni Gatti in Milan, Italy:
I have done 120 km with just 2,75 litres of fuel (95.2 mpg),
so it's quite a big success!!!
The mileage given by Citroen with 98 ron fuel is:
city driving: 7,8 l per 100 km.
(27.9 mpg)
freeway 90 km/h: 5,8 l per 100 km. (55 mph, 37.6 mpg)
with hydrogen boost and 25 Amps and good carburetor adjustments I got
40 km/l on the freeway at 105 km/h (63 mph), with some driving tips
(the most important was a little bit of drafting for some 25 km).
Gerald Bentley gets
20%-40% mileage boost on RV
I haven't written
to you in some time. Just to bring you up to speed I purchased
your Hydrogen boost system over a year ago for my motor home which is
powered with a Ford 7.5 liter gas engine. I did not use it much
the first year just short trips but this year my wife and I went west
from IA to MN ND Mt WY
back through MT WY SD into IA
touching NE and home to IA. Running mountains and head and cross winds
I ran MPG averages all the way from just under 6 to 7.5 which I didn't
think to bad beings I started with just over 5 MPG I have to mention
that we pulled a 3000 pound car on a 500 pound tow dolly.
Gerald E. Bentley
Russ Hebert achieves
51.3% increase with Chevy Pickup
Russ Hebert in Michigan purchased a Hydrogen Boost
system in April 2006. Within two
weeks he had increased his mileage on his Chevy 2500HD pickup from 11.3
mpg to 17.1 mpg, and became a dealer, selling five systems and ordering
ten. He is our quickest
developing dealer so far. We are
please to be doing business with Russ, who is now developing a market
for large boats.
Bob Hybertson Achieves First Major Diesel
Improvement 20%
Bob Hyberston
in Colorado
purchased a complete gas system but decided to install the Hydrogen
Generator on his diesel pickup and later wrote the following email:
As I had mentioned in our
phone conversation with the hydrogen cell mounted in my F350 7.3 diesel
Ford pickup I was running 420 miles one-way on the same route every
time so I had a baseline to work with. When I made the first run
with the hydrogen cell on it really did not have any major bearing at
first but when I made my second round I found it to make substantial
change in my fuel economy. The normal run would always averaging
about 16 miles a gallon pulling a 5000 pounds trailer unit for
oilfields but this time I was doing 19 miles a gallon and you could
tell it had more pulling power. The comparison of these two
journeys were within two days each other on the exact same route.
The temperatures (74-77) were within three degrees of each other of
those two days, the wind speeds were approximately the same of about 5
to 10 miles an hour out of the Northwest.
Now
that I have the system working on my pick-up my wife is becoming
impatient wanting one installed in her car because she drives 25 miles
one-way each day to work and back, so it's time to get busy and get her
car revised with the hydrogen cell otherwise there will be no peace in
the house.
Thanks
Bob
Fred Spencer Gets 25%
Mileage Increase with Diesel Pickup/trailer
Fred purchased two Hydrogen
Boost systems, one for gasoline vehicle and the other for his diesel
pickup. Soon after Fred reported
back about the results of the Hydrogen Boost installation on the diesel
vehicle. His pickup was used
regularly to haul his fifth wheel camper and large boat behind
that. Fred installed the
complete system including fuel heater and engine treatment. He reported a 25% increase in mileage
on the regular trips hauling the trailer and boat.
Fran’s
Comment: When I was first
informed about the above 20% and 25% mileage gains on diesel vehicles I
dismissed them as probable miscalculations of bad testing
protocol. I didn’t expect more
than 10% increase on diesels. A
year later I saw the results of the Purdue
University dynamometer tests (
see newsletter article at http://www.hydrogen-boost.com/May%202007.html ) and finally believed the
results reported by Bob and Fred.
Francis Hopkins’ Tractor
Trailer achieves 20% mileage increase
DEAR HYDROGEN-BOOST,
SINCE INSTALLING MY NEW HYDROGEN-BOOST I
WANTED TO WRITE YOU BECAUSE IT HAS REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY
VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO VERIFY AN INCREASE OF 20 PERCENT IN MY
FUEL MILEAGE USING THE BUILT IN COMPUTER IN MY DASH AND HAVE INCREASED
MY TARGET MPG (?) METER FROM 5 MPG TO 6 MPG SINCE I STARTED USING THE
UNIT. MY MPG BEFORE I INSTALLED THE HYDROGEN-BOOST WAS IN THE 4.9 TO
5.1 RANGE IN A 14 LITER DETROIT THAT IS OPENED UP FROM THE
FACTORY. NOW IT LOOKS TO BE CLEARLY IN THE 6.0 TO 6.5 MPG RANGE AND
HOPE TO DO BETTER NOW THAT THE SUMMER IS HEAR.
I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE OIL HAS GOTTEN
CLEANER WHICH I BELIEVE AT THIS TIME IS DUE TO BETTER BURNING OF THE
FUEL AND THE OIL ON THE DIPSTICK IS NOT SHOWING ANY SIGNS OF UNBURNED
FUEL IN THE OIL WHICH IS ANOTHER GOOD SIGN SINCE I INSTALLED THE
HYDROGEN-BOOST. THE INCREASED TORQUE HAS ALLOWED ME TO KEEP IT IN
HIGHER GEAR, MAKING IT MUCH EASIER ON THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THE ANOTHER
PLUS FOR MY FUEL MILEAGE.
THE HYDROGEN-BOOST HAS BEEN A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE IN MY
LIFE AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOUR
SUPPORT DURING INSTALLATION.

Follow-up message from Francis Hopkins:
I had
to update my original testimonial with the recent addition of
the XCEL PLUS permanent engine treatment. Originally I had just
purchased the Hydrogen Boost hydrogen generator and installed it. My
highway mileage went from around 5 mpg to 6 mpg. After I added the
engine, transmission, and differential treatments you sent me, my
dashboard read out of the mpg has gone up again to around 7 mpg, and
more recently it is up around 7.25 mpg. This is primarily pulling
a 70,000 to 80,000 pound truck at 70 mph across
fairly level terrain. Thank you Hydrogen Boost - Francis Hopkins.
Another follow-up message:
I almost forgot
about the trip I told you about going from Reading, Pa. to Oklahoma City, a 1453 mile trip, and
all the mountain climbing encountered with a 72,000 pound truck at 70
mph. I averaged 6.1 mpg. That comes out to around $350.00 per
week in fuel savings for me. Thanks again - Francis Hopkins
Gary Bailey’s
Tractor Trailer looks like 50% Mileage Increase
Testimonial by Gary Bailey
by email on 8-30-07
I am Gary Bailey
From Sedgwick Kansas
I
put a Model 40 Hydrogen Boost System on my 1996 Freightliner with
a 60 Series Detroit engine.
Before the Hydrogen I got 6 MPGs. I filled my truck up west of St Louis, MO. and
drove to Hagertown,
Maryland where I fill up
again. I added up my miles from
my GPS at 900 miles and I bought 110 Gallons and I have
a generator I ran for 2 day that burns 5 gallons a day. The speed limits for trucks across
IN, IL, & OH are 55 & 60 mph so that helps the fuel mileage. But I calculated my fuel mileage at 9
mpg. That looks like 50% improvement
to me.
I
checked my fuel mileage going to Salt
Lake City.
Nebraska and Wyoming speed limits are 75 mph and
out across the Mountains my fuel mileage was 6 ½ MPGs. There was another Freightliner truck
going to the same military base that had the same 60 Series Detroit
engine without Hydrogen Boost and he got only 4 MPGs. That looks like over 50% improvement
to me.
HYDROGEN WORK'S
Gary Bailey
Fran’s
Comments: Knowing that speed has
a lot to do with mileage and knowing that a loaded tractor trailer at
constant cruise can get mileage as follows:
5.8 mpg at 75 mph
6.4 mpg at 70 mph
7.9 mpg at 55 mph
So Gary’s improvement from 6 mpg to 9
mpg was partially due to decreased speed and his increase in mileage
due to the Hydrogen Boost system was closer to 20%.

To Command
Distributing:
We had our first
unit installed mid-summer of 08’. The unit worked well for a
short period of time and then Hydrogen Command discovered there was a
factory defect with the unit. They came out and installed a new
unit and stood behind their product. Since the new unit was
installed, our hydrogen command system has been operating efficiently;
the most current ECM rating reports showed a fuel savings of
11.7%. Our driver has reported to us and our Command Distributing
rep. an improvement in the overall performance of the truck; greater
pulling power, less down-shifting uphill, and more torque. We
have a second unit to install, and look forward to equipping the rest
of the fleet. I was very skeptical at first. But I must say,
"This product
does indeed work."
Thank you Command
Distributing.

Hummer Test, Five years of Success
When
the H2 Hummer first came out there we were ready to supply a Hydrogen
Boost system to improve mileage.
Dave Pierce in Michigan purchased a Hydrogen Boost system and
installed it on his brand new H2 Hummer. Now five and a half years later he is
here to tell his story.

According
to EPA mileage figures, even the much smaller H3 Hummer with its 3.7
liter 5 cylinder engine and manual transmission only gets 13 mpg city and
18 mpg highway. Dave’s mileage
on his much larger and more powerful H2 Hummer equipped with Hydrogen
Boost was competitive with the standard mileage of the H3. Thank you Dave for trusting us enough
to install our system on a brand new expensive vehicle and prove to the
world that not only does Hydrogen Boost improve your mileage, it is
perfectly safe to use on a new vehicle.
Follow
up email from Dave on July 19, 2008:
I
just read the following in Popular Mechanics August 2008 issue:
"Test
2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4x4 four door, 9242 miles driven.
Fuel economy: Average, 15.1 mpg, Worst 12.7 mpg, Best 16.2 mpg"...
This is a 202 hp 3.8 liter V-6 engine with 4.10 gearing like our
"03 H2, but we are running a 6 liter 425 hp engine and getting
equal or better fuel economy!
This Jeep weighs in at 4, 442 lbs compared to the 6,500 lbs of
our Hummer.
So,
our Hummer H2 outperforms the smaller, lighter Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Rubicon Handily... Thanks to the Hydrogen Boost system.
Who
says all Hummers are gas guzzlers?
In the 4x4 world ours rules!
Thanks
again for all of your help Fran!
With a late
model GM sedan with 3.4 liter V-6 engine John Vine writes:
I
told you about our "Rapid Screen" (emissions test in
Colorado) where the State places special truck and sensors on each side
of an entrance to a highway, usually at a point where you would
accelerate up a hill, measure your exhaust as you drive by. The
tolerance is much stricter this way. You need to go through at
least twice on separate days and within 10 months of license plate
expiration. I did this several times while hydrogen system
working and accelerated more that I needed and received a notice in the
mail when my plates were due that an inspection was not necessary as I passed
the "Rapid Screen" test.
I
run with amps dead on 15 after a short warm up so all is working
great. Depending on traffic and go/stop areas in city has gone
from 15 MPG to 20 to 22 MPG and highway 22 MPG to 27/28 MPG.

Follow-up from George, Jan 9, 2009
Hi Fran!
I just wanted to drop you a
short note to say that the hydrogen boost system you installed for me
is netting me much higher tank averages in the cold weather than I was
getting last year. (From 29-31 to 35-37 mpg's). I am very
happy with the system. Of course, I can't finish the letter
without a question, and it's not a big deal. I was just curious
about the water consumption of the hydrogen generator. You
installed my system back on October 21st, I believe. I've driven
more than three thousand miles since and I'm still on my first gallon
of distilled water. I have less than 1/4 of a gallon left.
I would have thought that I would have used more than that by
now. Any thoughts? It's still pulling between 15 and 20
amps when fully warmed. I just got back from a road trip to
Quakertown, PA, and I averaged about 43 mpg's both ways. I think
it would have been higher without the high winds that day. OK,
that's all for now.
Sincerely,
George Sills
Fran’s response:
You
are making an average of 1.5 liters gas per minute. There are
1860 liters of gas in one liter of water. That would be 1240
minutes driving per liter of water. You have used 3 liters of
water or 3720 minutes or 62 hours of driving. So if you have
driven less than 3100 miles since October, your water usage is about
right.
Thanks
for the update. Your average mileage compared to last winter
confirms a 20% increase as is typical with our testing. Thanks
for additional independent testing.
Keep
up the good work helping the planet,
Fran

* I would like to make sure you understand that the
Hydrogen-Boost System is a system, not just a device. Though the
installation of a hydrogen gas generator will increase the mileage of
most vehicles by a considerable amount, usually 5-10% or more, the system
that accounts for 50% to 100% increases in mileage includes other
components and the implementation of the numerous maintenance and
driving recommendations outlined in the operator's manual. No
simple device could give 50% to 100% increases in mileage. If we
had such a device we would sell it for $5000 or more and it wouldn't be
long before the vested interests in the automobile and petroleum
industries would find a way to close us down.
